that's how we feel right now....
it was my first wedding on the Odyessey -- and it was a CRAZY breath of FRESH AIR! it was one of the sweetest, calmest weddings ever! the weather was all we could have hoped for -- the breezy morning was soft and romantic and it just too easy and way too fun!!!

laura and benson DEFINITELY win the award this year of "most-laid-back couple!" thanks for including us!! it was like a little party in the bridal suite prior to the wedding, with the makeup artist and hair stylist!

heya!!! GREAT WEEKEND!!! i had the FORTUNE of shooting with joelle -- a long lost friend from 10 years ago!! she and charlie drove in from PA and she accompanied me to laura & benson's gorgeous wedding!!!.....

photographers who babysit...

ha! well, since 2006/2007 became THE YEAR for all of my friends to have their first baby -- we found ourselves babysitting on Father's Day. :) baby ella was lucky enough to have a camera shoved in her face for the entire first hour i arrived. and then...things took a turn for the worse aaaaand the camera had to go. haha. poor baby passed out within 10 minutes of her bedtime feeding.

considering she's 4 mths old (give or take a few weeks?), she was very accommodating toward me and only spit up on me a few times...and let me play with her "diaper genie." who knew....

katrina & marvin

i spent the day with katrina and marvin on saturday...it was my first military wedding! they were a completely wonderful and gracious couple, and i can't lie - i wish all my weddings were "military-style!" those wedding coordinators did NOT skip a beat and i've never felt more informed and up to speed on minute-by-minute activities, than i did on saturday! whew! why can't they all be just like that!

everyone was so sweet to us -- it was perfect weather -- perfect location -- perfect couple! i wish you both the best and congratulations!!

on a personal front -- seth nickerson REALLY came in and saved the day for me!!! seth is a longtime friend who has his own videography business. www.nickersonvideo.com. at any rate, his WIFE usually shoots with me but just had that adorable baby abel...therefore, her hubby stepped up and exceeded my EVERY expectation! between the three of us -- we could do alot of great things and i can't wait to shoot again with you next month, seth and....to also get your wifey back in commission!!! rainy day....

ever since my friend told me her entire TV blew up during a thunderstorm -- i'm exceptionally nervous leaving my equipment plugged in when that's the case. it's currently thundering....FLASHES of lighting....and therefore, my new handy dandy monitor is being unplugged as we speak.....

but some of my computer issues have been solved!!! for those of you who CARE and i know it won't be very many of you -- i got a new monitor! try to hold your laughter as you note the tv tray holding my laptop as an extension to my desk :) i also got a keyboard....a wireless mouse....it's almost as though i never left my office job :) ......almost....

here she is!

it was really exciting. i also had more memory installed into my hard drive....so i'm zipping along at a MUCH better speed! this is my baby...watching....learning....you could call him "the apprentice."



and since my battery on this thing won't last all day -- it's best that i get started on unpacking my suitcase from last weekend and doing the laundry that has been PILING up quickly in my hamper :(



THREE WEEKS of untouched mail. BAD BAD MORGANS.....



so there ya have it! we're getting ramped up here to shoot a wedding at Ft. Belvoir on Saturday -- keep you posted on the progress on that end!!!

sorry for the delay!!!! my computer is completely wigging out and i feel a bit overwhelmed at the moment -- so much going on -- so much to do!!!

i arrived back from california last night and i must say -- i wish all my weddings could be as smooth-sailing and FUN as this one. despite nearly cracking my head open at the reception (walking from folding chair to folding chair will come with certain risks!), the day went without a hitch!

the bride and her family were so much MORE than gracious to us and the scenery can't be beat!! it was a true joy to photograph this day and it really reminded me why this job is so rewarding!!!

hello everybody!! i don't bear any additional photos of cute pregnant girls or baby abel. sorry. i will in due time....but i'm taking off for california tomorrow to shoot miss megan brookshire's wedding! though i've never officially met her, i feel as though i have a great grasp on what the family is like -- after multiple calls with members of her family! i hoping for some sun on friday -- but either way -- i very much look forward to this experience!

but.
and this is a shameless plug for one of my favorite photographers....David Jay. david shot Megan's sisters wedding in 2003. i met david at my friend, Nina's wedding...and actually reqeusted that he shoot my wedding as well, but he was booked already :) needless to say...he's a hard act to follow!!! EEEK! i do feel humbled by the fact that David Jay & Allison Morgan will have both been family photographers for the Brookshires, I just pray that I'm on my game and worthy!!!

david -- you've truly inspired me on countless occasions and your work is phenomenal!!! as a believer and a business man, you've set the standard and i'm excited to see where God takes you!!!

what's with all the cute pregnant girls?!

ok, so i rushed to Pennsylvania for a quick pregnancy shoot with Christa & Matt!!! and when i say quick - i mean it! we did the entire thing in less than 45 minutes which is a HUGE record for me!!! :) and i will go ahead and out myself -- it was my first sitting where i shot in RAW format and i will shout it from the rooftops....I LOVED IT! i will never go back. of course it required some personal tutoring from ryan portnoy...i am indebted forever.

Christa is 2 weeks shy of her due date and looks about...oh...5mths along! she's adorable and matt ain't half bad himself. ;) thought he did NOT want any part of this -- my coercive ways wooooed him in. and i think he likes the outcome!!!

THANKS GUYS!! can't wait to meet your little man!

only because i'm the proudest "non-aunt" in the world.....will i exploit my "2nd shooter's" new baby boy!!!!!

abel came to us at 505pm yesterday after givingi his mama the hardest time in ALL THE WORLD. but he's here and he's a DOLL....

i can hardly wait to squeeeeeeze those cheeks again!!!!
